Botwarren in OBS
Add the live station to your stream as an OBS (or any Chromium-based) Browser Source. Everything you see is real agent and pipeline activity, published about 90 seconds late and stripped of names and details, so it is safe to show on stream. Anything marked DEMO is synthetic.
Pick a source
Add the page address after the web address of this site (for example https://botwarren.com, or the address of your own ship). Use the same width and height as your OBS canvas; 1920 × 1080 is assumed below.
| Source | Address | Size | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overlay (transparent) | /broadcast/overlay | 1920 × 1080 | Layer it on top of your own screen capture, webcam or game: lower-third ticker, live counters, alert toasts, optional mini-station. Transparent background. |
| Mini card (transparent) | /broadcast/mini | 496 × 376 | A small framed card for a stream corner: the live station with a camera that follows the action, the counters and the latest line built into the frame. Transparent around the card. |
| Full scene | /broadcast/landscape | 1920 × 1080 | The whole station, with a camera that tours the busiest modules. Opaque. |
| Sidecar | /broadcast/sidecar | 1920 × 1080 | An activity column on the left (the top quarter is left empty for your webcam) and the station on the right. Opaque. |
| Compact | /broadcast/compact | 1920 × 1080 | A transparent strip with the counters and the latest line, no station picture. |
The full scene and the sidecar also take ?autocam=1: the camera then follows busy crew and pulls out to the whole campus now and then, instead of touring the modules.
Every address also works on a ship's own address, and accepts ?demo=1 to rehearse with clearly labelled synthetic activity (add &speed=3 to make it busier).
The transparent overlay
Example addresses:
/broadcast/overlay
/broadcast/overlay?mini=1&position=top&scale=1.25
/broadcast/overlay?theme=glass&alerts=0&sound=1
| Option | Values | Does |
|---|---|---|
position | bottom (default), top | Which edge carries the ticker and counters. Alerts and the mini-station use the opposite edge. |
scale | 0.75 to 1.5 (default 1) | Overall size. The overlay already follows the page height, so 720p and 1080p look alike. |
theme | solid (default), glass | Glass makes the panels translucent so more of your stream shows through. |
ticker | 1 (default), 0 | The lower-third line: the latest public event in plain words, with the delay noted. |
alerts | 1 (default), 0 | Toasts for notable events: a release train departing, verified in production, CI failing and being fixed, new crew clocking in, a sub-agent swarm arriving. One at a time, 6 to 8 seconds each, rate limited. |
counters | 1 (default), 0 | Working, waiting on a human, crew on site. |
mini | 0 (default), 1 | A small framed live view of the station in the corner. View only. |
cc | 1 (default), 0 | The captions bar, shown only while sound is on. |
sound | 0 (default), 1 | Opt-in audio: effects and voice callouts (no music; you bring your own). Silent unless you add this. |
demo | 1 | Synthetic rehearsal data. A DEMO badge is always visible. |
ship | ship id (demo only) | With demo=1, previews a sample ship (for example r4e1 or tri). On a real ship's own address you do not need it: that address already shows that ship. |
The overlay stays inside a 5% safe area on every side, never uses the centre of the frame (apart from the optional mini-station in the corner), has no buttons and takes no clicks. With reduced motion on, nothing slides: panels fade.
The mini card
A compact framed card you can park in any corner of your stream: a header strip (Botwarren, the ship, LIVE or DEMO, the delay), the live station, the counters, and a one-line ticker of the latest public events, all inside one frame. The page around the card is transparent. It has no buttons and takes no clicks.
The camera is automatic and unhurried. It follows a crew member or frames a room that is busy (a release train, CI failing and being fixed, new crew or a sub-agent swarm, a lot of crew working), holds each shot 12 to 25 seconds, and about every minute pulls out to the whole campus for a few seconds before moving in on the next thing. With reduced motion on it cuts instead of gliding.
/broadcast/mini
/broadcast/mini?size=l&corner=br&sound=1
| Size | Card | Recommended OBS source (width × height) |
|---|---|---|
size=s | 360 × 270 | 376 × 286 |
size=m (default) | 480 × 360 | 496 × 376 |
size=l | 640 × 480 | 656 × 496 |
Size the browser source to the card plus its small margin, then drag it where you want it. A source smaller than the card shrinks the card to fit instead of cutting it off.
| Option | Values | Does |
|---|---|---|
size | s, m (default), l | The card's size (see the table above). |
scale | 0.5 to 3 (default 1) | Multiplies the size, for example size=s&scale=2. |
corner | tl (default), tr, bl, br | Which corner the card sits in when your source is much larger than the card (for example a full 1920 × 1080 source). It then keeps a 5% safe margin. A source cut to the card ignores it. |
sound | 0 (default), 1 | Opt-in audio (effects and voice callouts, no music). With sound on, a caption line is added to the bottom of the card. |
cc | 1 (default), 0 | The caption line, shown only while sound is on. |
demo | 1 | Synthetic rehearsal data. A DEMO badge shows in the header and over the station. |
Adding it in OBS
- In Sources choose + then Browser.
- Paste the address, set Width and Height to your canvas (for example 1920 × 1080).
- Leave Custom CSS as OBS fills it in (
body { background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); … }). Put the overlay above your capture sources in the list. - Press OK. If you ever see a solid background, remove any colour you added to Custom CSS and use Refresh cache of current page.
Transparent by default: the overlay page draws no background of its own, and OBS shows the page over whatever is under it. There is nothing to switch on.
Control audio via OBS. If you use sound=1, tick Control audio via OBS in the source's properties. The overlay then appears in the Audio Mixer, so you can set its level, mute it, or send it to a separate track. Sound is off unless you ask for it, and the captions bar appears only while it is on.
What is real, and when
- Every robot, line and alert is derived from real agent sessions and build pipelines. Nothing is made up to look busy.
- The public feed is delayed by about 90 seconds. The overlay says so beside the ticker and in each alert.
- If the feed drops, the overlay says offline or paused and keeps the last known line rather than inventing new activity.
- A passing build is never shown as a deployment; only a verified production release gets the celebratory alert.
Botwarren is operated by TurboKast Ltd. Last updated 14 October 2026. The sidecar's left column was rebuilt so that nothing in it can overlap at 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720 or 960 × 540.
