Botwarren FAQ

Short answers about what Botwarren shows, what it never touches, and how to try it or remove it.

What is Botwarren?

A live pixel-art space station where real AI coding agents and build pipelines show up as little crew and machines at work. Each ship belongs to one developer or team and lives at its own address. It is made by TurboKast Ltd.

Is what I see real?

Yes. Each crew member is a real session and its state (working, idle, gone) comes from that session; machines and the release shuttle reflect real builds and deploys. Names and personalities are made up, scenery is decoration, and anything marked DEMO is synthetic.

Why is it about 90 seconds behind?

Everything is held back about 90 seconds before it is published (30 seconds for the first minutes of a new ship). The delay is an extra safeguard; the real protection is that only fixed status codes, never text, are sent.

What does the agent read and send?

It reads metadata: that a session exists, whether it is working, the kind of step, whether a tool call failed, the model family and a rough context gauge. It never reads or sends prompts, replies, code, file names, paths, commit messages, terminal output or secrets. The full list is on the plain-English page "What Botwarren reads and sends".

Which tools does it work with?

Claude Code and Codex are verified with real session files. Herdr and Ninox are supported by adapters that are fixture-tested but not yet verified against live installs, and OpenCode and Gemini CLI have experimental adapters. The integrations page has the details.

Can I stream it in OBS?

Yes. There are browser sources for a transparent overlay, a small mini card, a full scene, a sidecar layout and a compact strip, all showing the same public, delayed feed, so it is safe on stream. The OBS page lists the addresses, sizes and options.

Does it cost anything?

Creating a ship is free today. Sign-ups are open with a launch cap, so you may be asked to join a waitlist when the cap is reached.

Can I keep my ship private?

New ships are link-only: they are not listed in Browse ships until you list them. Anyone who has the link can still open it, so it is not a password. For nothing to be published at all, pause the agent.

How do I stop it or remove it?

Run botwarren pause to stop anything new from leaving your computer, revoke the ship's key in your account, and run the uninstaller, which removes the service and, if you ask, your local data. To have data deleted, write to [email protected].

Is it open source?

The ship agent that runs on your computer is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so you can read exactly what it does.
